so, in the cosplay group i sometimes hang out with, they often joke about how there are or aren’t people of color around.  by which they clearly mean their black friends, b/c sometimes when they’re like “we’re such a white group today,” there are a couple of guys from mexico, and of course, i’m clearly asian. this happened again just this weekend, and i’m like uh, technically i’m a person of color too.  i mean, i know my skin’s on the lighter side, but still. we’re not invisible you know.  and they were like oh yeah, of course you’re not invisible, we just meant our black friend.  and i was like “…”

so yeah, not sure how i feel about that yet. should i be pleased that we’re not seen as “other”, or should i be kinda offended that the only color they see is black and white?
